Österreichische Bernsteinstrasse: Austrian Amberroad

Welcome to the site of the Austrian Amber Road Association

Our site is dedicated to amber, the “Gold of the North”. The fossile resine has fascinated people since ancient times and gave name to the most important link between Northern and Southern Central Europe, the Amber Road. This ancient trade route connects countries and nations between the Baltic and the Mediterrenean Sea. Our aim is to revive these relations.

Every trip along the Amber Road is a journey through European history and culture - museums, archaeological sites, monumental castles, splendid palaces and historic cities are linked through this route.
